Learning and Practicing Better Health

By Jack Shaw, MCAP, Counselor

The clients and staff of Turning Point in St. Petersburg hosted an informational health fair organized by the third-year doctor of physical therapy students from Gannon University in Ruskin, Florida. Topics covered were: “Sleep and Sleep Hygiene,” “The Importance of Staying Hydrated” and “More Stretching, Less Stressing.”

The fair transformed from a presentation to an interactive event as the clients all participated in a series of stretching exercises with the future doctors!

We anticipate an ongoing relationship with Gannon University as the students are required to complete community service hours as well. They greatly appreciated the enthusiastic engagement that they received from those that we serve at Turning Point!
