The LST Program Team Up with the Community to Spread Holiday Cheer!

By Felicia Williams, Program Director, Life Skills Training

On December 18, the Brew City Cowboys, the Beulah Family Homestead Farm, the 5th District Milwaukee Police Department (MPD), and WestCare Wisconsin’s Life Skills Training (LST) program took their trails to the streets of Harambee to distribute toys and gifts to families enrolled in the LST program. The calvary was led by a mounted officer from the MPD. Can you imagine the faces of our community members a parade of horses coming down the street? It was a joy to see the smiles on the residents’ faces as they came stopped by and delivered gifts such as hats, gloves, socks, turkeys, and gift cards for some seniors.

Also, on December 21, some of the Jr. Youth Action Council tagged along with the 5th District MPD to shop for their fellow youth in the community. I think they had a ball spreading joy throughout the Harambee neighborhood!
